None of the data collected by this app is linked to your identity.
We collect the following categories of data, none of which is linked to your identity:
Device ID — Used for Analytics, and Other Purposes
An anonymous device identifier is collected to deliver analytics and to associate purchase entitlements with your device. This identifier is not linked to your personal identity.
Purchase History — Used for App Functionality, and Analytics
If you make in-app purchases, transaction data is processed by Apple and RevenueCat to manage your subscription. This data is used to provide access to premium features and to analyze purchasing trends in aggregate.
Product Interaction — Used for Analytics
We collect anonymous data about how you interact with the app (e.g., screens viewed, sessions started, features used) through Firebase Analytics. This helps us understand how the app is used and identify areas for improvement.
Crash Data — Used for App Functionality
Crash reports are collected through Firebase Crashlytics to help us identify and fix issues that affect app stability.
Other Diagnostic Data — Used for App Functionality, and Analytics
Additional diagnostic information (e.g., performance metrics, error logs) may be collected to monitor app health and improve reliability.
QR8 uses the camera to scan QR codes, barcodes, text and paper pages. Recognition happens on your device using the operating system’s built-in scanning features. No camera frames, no scanned codes, no recognised text and no page images are sent to us or to any third party.
QR codes and business cards carry whatever you choose to put in them: a link, a phone number, an email address, Wi-Fi details, an event, a location, or the name, title, company and contact details on a card. This information is encoded into the code or drawn onto the card on your device and is not transmitted to us.
Be aware that a code or card you save, print or share carries that information by design, and anyone who scans it can read it. Do not encode information you would not want the recipient to have.
QR8 does not perform facial recognition, does not extract biometric or face data from any photo, and does not upload photos for processing of any kind. A portrait placed on a business card is treated as an ordinary picture and stays on your device.
QR8 does not access Apple Health or any health or fitness information.

If you delete the app, all locally-stored data is removed.
Anonymous analytics and diagnostic data are retained by our third-party providers according to their own retention schedules. Locally-stored data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.
QR8 is not directed at children under 4. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the app collects no identity-linked data at all, no personal information about any user, including children, is collected.
