1. Acceptance of Terms

UP⁺ (“UP⁺”, formerly Psychpedia; “we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy applies to UP⁺ and its various versions and is part of our Terms of Use. By accessing or using our Application, you acknowledge and fully understand this Privacy Policy and freely consent to the practices described here.

None of the data collected by this app is linked to your identity.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of data, none of which is linked to your identity:

Identifiers

Device ID — Used for Analytics, and Other Purposes

An anonymous device identifier is collected to deliver analytics and to associate purchase entitlements with your device. This identifier is not linked to your personal identity.

Purchases

Purchase History — Used for App Functionality, and Analytics

If you make in-app purchases, transaction data is processed by Apple and RevenueCat to manage your subscription. This data is used to provide access to premium features and to analyze purchasing trends in aggregate.

Usage Data

Product Interaction — Used for Analytics

We collect anonymous data about how you interact with the app (e.g., screens viewed, content opened, features used) through Firebase Analytics and Mixpanel. This helps us understand how the app is used and identify areas for improvement.

Diagnostics

Crash Data — Used for App Functionality

Crash reports are collected through Firebase Crashlytics to help us identify and fix issues that affect app stability.

Other Diagnostic Data — Used for App Functionality, and Analytics

Additional diagnostic information (e.g., performance metrics, error logs) may be collected to monitor app health and improve reliability.

3. Data That Stays on Your Device

The following data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party:

• Mood entries. The daily mood you select on the mood calendar is stored locally in your device’s secure storage. We do not see, sync, or back it up.
• Onboarding answers. Your responses to the onboarding questions (goals, focus areas, anxiety/stress frequency, sleep quality, etc.) are stored locally to personalize the app experience. They are not sent to our servers or third parties.
• App preferences. Settings such as language and content visibility are stored locally.

If you delete the app, all locally-stored data is removed.

4. Photos and Face Data

UP⁺ does not request, capture, upload, store, or process any photos, videos, face data, or biometric information. The app contains no camera flow and no AI image processing.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Firebase Analytics — Anonymous usage analytics. Collects device identifiers and product interaction data.
• Firebase Crashlytics — Crash reporting and diagnostics.
• Firebase Remote Config — App configuration delivery. No user data collected.
• Mixpanel — Anonymous product analytics. Collects device identifiers and screen-view events.
• RevenueCat — Subscription and purchase management. Collects device identifiers and purchase history to manage entitlements.
• Apple In-App Purchases — Secure transaction handling.

These services process data only to the extent required for their core functions. None of the data collected is linked to your personal identity.

6. Third-Party Content

UP⁺ contains short educational content about psychology, including:

• Book reviews and summaries — references to published works such as Sapiens, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Animal Farm, etc. These summaries are our own commentary on widely-known psychology and literature works under fair-use/educational principles.
• Embedded YouTube videos — links to publicly available videos from third-party channels (TED, TED-Ed, TEDx, and other psychology educators). Playback is provided by YouTube under YouTube’s terms; we do not host the video content.
• Course material — original educational content authored by us, citing public psychological research where relevant.

Trademarks, book titles, author names, and other third-party references remain the property of their respective owners.

7. Data Retention

• Analytics and diagnostics: Retained in anonymous, aggregated form by third-party providers according to their own retention policies.
• Purchase information: Managed by Apple and RevenueCat under their respective privacy and retention policies.
• Local data (mood, onboarding answers, preferences): Retained on your device until you delete the app or clear the data manually.
• No user data is linked to personal identity.

8. Data Security

• All data transmission between your device and third-party providers is encrypted using industry-standard protocols.
• Locally-stored data is protected by iOS sandboxing.
• No employee has access to any personally-identifiable information.
• We apply appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data. While no system can guarantee 100% security, we continuously work to safeguard your information.

9. Children’s Privacy

UP⁺ is not designed for users under age 4. We do not knowingly collect any data from children. If you believe data was shared with us in error, please contact us at tunahanaktay.apps@gmail.com and we will delete it immediately.

10. International Transfers

Analytics and crash reports may be processed on cloud servers located outside your country. All processing is done under secure, GDPR-compliant infrastructure.

UP⁺ provides general psychology and mental wellness information for educational and self-reflection purposes only. It is not a medical or therapeutic service, does not diagnose conditions, and does not replace professional advice. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a qualified professional or local emergency services.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted here with a revised “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the Application constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
